Satoshi: Here’s Why Satoshi is Trending Today?
X (previously known as Twitter) is known for many timeless tweets and starting waves in the crypto market. The same has happened this time, leading to the Satoshi being in trend. Satoshi is a person or group of people who introduced and developed Bitcoin. So, has Satoshi come forward to show his true identity, or there’s a different matter? Let’s look into that.
Satoshi Is Trending; High Hopes For Bull Run
At yesterday’s Super Bowl, the Founder and former CEO of X, Jack Dorsey, was spotted wearing a Satoshi t-shirt. He also wore the same t-shirt in the last year’s game on 12 Feb 2023. Jack’s t-shirt was originally supposed to carry a twisted smiley face logo of a Nirwana band from 1990. But the t-shirt had Satoshi written in yellow instead of the brand’s name calling for personalized customization.
The image of Dorsey with Jay-Z and Beyonce has been trending among the crypto community, leading to speculations of the upcoming Bull Run.
This appearance even led to a few people questioning whether he’s the real Satoshi in the comments of Twitter posts. Such allegations might be true because Dorsey is involved in a lawsuit in the United Kingdom with Craig Wright claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto.
Satoshi wrote the white paper, Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System, in 2008 and disappeared by 2011. No one knows Satoshi’s true identity, whether he is a person or a group of people, but in 2016, Wright claimed to be Nakamoto. But till now, Wright hasn’t been able to prove anything. He has failed to share the private keys that only Satoshi can give to access 1.1 Million Mined Bitcoins.
These pretentious comments led to many legal cases against Wright, including the one by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (Copa). Dorsey’s payment company and the Coinbase exchange are a part of this organization and have demanded the London court declare ‘Wright is not Satoshi.’
Dorsey’s recent appearance at the Super Bowl wearing a Satoshi lettering T-shirt is also called a promotional act for cryptocurrency. Super Bowl is known for its large audience, and because of that many crypto-related companies have tried to promote their business and crypto during games.
Is Jack Dorsey The Real Satoshi?
Jack Dorsey has been a vocal supporter of Bitcoin and has tried to make Bitcoin the official currency of the Internet by donating 10 Million dollars. He has done multiple things related to Bitcoin, including launching ‘Bitcoin Academy’ in 2022 with Jay-Z, the same person he got pictures at the recent Super Bowl game. Other than this, he has been in a public and drawn-out spat with the founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, on “Which one is the better cryptocurrency?”
Many similar involvements indicate a possibility of Jack being Satoshi, but it’s not proven, making it a rumor only.
Conclusion
After last year’s crypto winter, investors are desperately waiting for the bull run. Small events like Jack wearing Satoshi T-shirts have the power to create hype. Even after this, no grand changes are seen in the performance of the crypto market. It hints that Bull Run will take more than wearing a t-shirt. The crypto market capitalization is $1.8 Trillion and is up comparatively to the last weeks.
