Content creators on Telegram stand to gain 50% of ad revenue, while Toncoin’s Open League initiative fuels community engagement

Telegram has recently accelerated its integration of crypto technology, notably the TON blockchain, by introducing toncoin (TON) payments for advertisers and enabling crypto payouts for content creators within its messaging app. This move has sparked a surge in The Open Network (TON Blockchain) activity, positioning it as Telegram’s primary platform for facilitating a thriving social media advertising ecosystem.

When Telegram officially began accepting toncoins for advertisements, users activated a record-breaking 156,000 TON wallets, marking a significant milestone in the network’s adoption. This surge in activations, which more than doubled the previous record, underscores the growing interest and confidence in Telegram’s experimental foray into the crypto space.

Circular Economy Fueled by Toncoin

The network’s transition to a circular economy has been sparked by Telegram’s strategic choice to base its advertising platform on TON, which Toncoins power. In order to fund their marketing campaigns, advertisers transact in toncoins to fund their marketing campaigns, generating revenue that is subsequently divided evenly between content creators and Telegram.

This revenue-sharing arrangement incentivizes content creation and aligns Telegram with the growing trend of social media platforms recognizing and rewarding their content creators. However, content creators must wait until late May to withdraw any TON payments they receive, as per Fragment’s web page. In addition, Telegram’s enormous user base of 700 million active monthly users and 1 trillion channel views monthly places the platform in a profitable advertising space, which increases investor confidence in TON’s potential.

Telegram’s TON-based ad platform offers advertisers unparalleled accessibility and cost-effectiveness compared to traditional advertising avenues. With a minimal investment of only 20 TON (~$105), advertisers can initiate their campaigns through Telegram’s crypto platform, Fragment, marking a stark departure from the previous €2 million minimum threshold. This democratization of advertising opens doors for small-time advertisers to engage with Telegram’s expansive user base, circumventing the need for intermediary agencies.

Toncoin’s Evolution and Market Performance
