Donald Trump said that one of his many first Executive Orders on January 20th would be to impose a 25% tariff on all products from Mexico and Canada. He added that China would be charged an additional 10% tariff on top of any other tariffs on all Chinese goods coming into the United States. Trump raised concerns over the large amounts of drugs, especially Fentanyl, that were coming into the U.S. from China through the porous Mexican border. The incoming president said his many talks with China about the drugs sent to the U.S. from their country had not been followed through by the Chinese government. According to Trump, he had carried out many talks with China about the massive amounts of drugs, in particular, Fentanyl, that were being sent to the U.S. He called out the inaction of Chinese representatives who had previously promised to institute the maximum penalty of death for any drug dealers caught shipping drugs to the United States.
