CoinMarketCap’s Altcoin Season index is not pulling huge numbers for altcoins, as seen on Binance. It gives altcoins a score of 46%, suggesting that Bitcoin season is in the offing. The index compares the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market cap based on their rolling 90-day price performances. Most traders rely on Bitcoin dominance to establish when the altcoin season will start. Bitcoin dominance is a metric that shows its share of total market cap, and mostly, when it drops, it signals the start of an altcoin season.
