Following a recent settlement with the SEC, the exchange announced on its official X account that users must “close their positions” as restructuring measures take effect, including adjustments to interest rates and collateral, starting January 13. This development comes after the SEC’s endorsement of a settlement regarding allegations against Mango DAO and the Blockworks Foundation for selling unregistered securities, which raised over $70 million through the MNGO governance token in August 2021. As per the SEC’s findings, both entities contravened the 1933 Securities Act and engaged in unregistered brokerage activities, leading to a $700,000 civil penalty and a mandated destruction of MNGO tokens.
