The tune naturally sees a spike in activity as spring transitions into summer, and it’s one of a handful of cuts by Del Rey that have reached well beyond her core fanbase. Streams of the popular composition — which was made famous in part by a Cedric Gervais remix — increase when the weather turns warm. In the past, “Summertime Sadness” has only peaked at No. 77 on the Official Streaming chart, which ranks the most successful tunes on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and others across the U.K. It has spent 30 weeks on the tally throughout its lifetime.
