The Trump family has moved to shut down an unauthorized cryptocurrency wallet that used the president’s name and branding. Legal representatives for World Liberty Financial sent cease-and-desist letters to the companies behind the disputed project on June 5.
Magic Eden, a major NFT marketplace, partnered with GetTrumpMemes.com to create what they called the “Official Trump Wallet.” The wallet was designed to work with the $TRUMP memecoin that launched earlier this year. GetTrumpMemes.com operates under Fight Fight Fight LLC, owned by longtime Trump associate Bill Zanker.
The wallet project launched with promotional posts and a signup page to build a waitlist. Marketing materials used Trump’s name and image without authorization from the Trump family or their businesses. The project gained attention quickly in crypto circles before facing pushback.
Donald Trump Jr. serves as Web3 ambassador for World Liberty Financial, the Trump family’s official crypto venture. He publicly disavowed the wallet project on June 3. Eric Trump also issued statements distancing the family from the unauthorized wallet.

Barron Trump, the president’s youngest son, also denied any connection to the wallet project. All three sons emphasized that neither the Trump family nor the Trump Organization had approved or authorized the crypto wallet.
Legal Action Unfolds
World Liberty Financial’s lawyers drafted the cease-and-desist letters while the Trump sons were making their public statements. The legal action targeted both Magic Eden and Fight Fight Fight LLC. Bloomberg reported the legal moves, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The dispute highlights tensions between different crypto projects using the Trump brand. Some ventures have official family backing, while others operate without authorization. World Liberty Financial oversees legitimate Trump family crypto projects, including the USD1 stablecoin.
The relationship between the Trump family and Bill Zanker appears to have deteriorated. Zanker previously worked with the family on crypto ventures, including four NFT launches before Trump’s re-election. He also helped organize a controversial dinner for top $TRUMP memecoin holders.
Data from Chainalysis shows the $TRUMP memecoin creators made $320 million in fees. Most retail traders who bought the token lost money on their investments. The memecoin launched with heavy promotion but saw its value decline after initial trading.

The domain TrumpWallet.com was taken offline following the legal action. The website previously hosted promotional materials for the disputed wallet project. Social media posts from Magic Eden and the memecoin team remained active as of June 5.
Democratic lawmakers have raised concerns about Trump’s growing crypto involvement. They worry that commercializing the presidency through digital assets could affect legislation on stablecoins and decentralized finance. Several members of Congress have voiced these concerns in recent weeks.
