Memphis traded Desmond Bane to Orlando for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony, four unprotected first round picks, and one first round pick swap according to Shams Charania. This move signifies that Orlando was prepared to cash in on their core of wing duo Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero by giving them a player who can make their lives on the court easier. Last season Bane averaged 19.3 points per game, and 5.3 assists per game, while shooting 39 percent from three on 6 attempts per game with a 60 percent true shooting percentage. Orlando always finds themselves having a sluggish offense because they don’t have a true guard creator, but with this trade they addressed an issue that has plagued them for many years. Not only can Bane initiate offense for them, but he also fits like a glove off the ball, as he shot 42 percent on catch and shoot threes last season as well.
