Forgotten Playland Brings NFTs and Blockchain to Social Gaming on Beam Network
Cosmetic and Toybox NFTs offer customisation, access, and marketplace interaction.
Seasonal battle pass, German support, and new party modes expand the game’s global reach.
Forgotten Playland has officially integrated blockchain technology in its latest update, live as of 19 June. Built on Beam Network, an Avalanche-powered Layer 1 blockchain, the update enables full ownership and free trading of in-game assets and marks a major shift towards decentralised gaming.
Players can now own two types of NFTs in-game: cosmetic NFTs and Toybox NFTs. Cosmetic NFTs include items like skins, traits and emotes, and are earnable through gameplay, the battle pass or Toyboxes. Toyboxes, newly launched in this update, are limited-edition bundles released periodically, each packed with a mix of cosmetics to let players express their unique style.
Zico Bakker, co-founder of Duckland Games, said the NFTs provide personalisation, marketplace trading, and access to exclusive content but also deeper engagement for players.

Progression Meets Incentives
Alongside NFTs, the game also uses its native Forgotten Playland token (FP) to power its new decentralised economy. FP tokens are used in the game’s ongoing play-to-airdrop campaign, in which players earn FLUFFY points based on their gameplay activity, quest completion, and cosmetic ownership.
As NFTs and FP tokens gain utility, players no longer experience purely cosmetic progression; there’s financial and social motivation to engage deeper.
The update also includes the Spring Festival battle pass, seasonal challenges, and full German language support to cater to a wider audience.
Upcoming features include two additional party games set to launch in two weeks and a Plushkyn Battle mode, which is still in development. Forgotten Playland continues to expand with content designed to support long-term engagement.
The game originally launched in March as a free-to-play party title by Duckland Games and Vermillion Studios, in collaboration with the Beam Foundation. The game, centred around chaotic multiplayer antics involving abandoned plush toys called PlushKyns, is now live on PC via the Epic Games Store.
