Ethereum continues to strengthen its position in global finance as VanEck CEO Jan van Eck argued that the blockchain will be the clear winner in the race for stablecoin infrastructure. Speaking on Fox Business, van Eck said banks have less than twelve months to integrate stablecoin payment systems if they want to stay competitive, and Ethereum is the leading option to make that possible.

According to van Eck, Ethereum has become “the Wall Street token,” a platform trusted by financial institutions due to its established ecosystem, developer base, and liquidity. With the stablecoin supply surpassing $280 billion and U.S. lawmakers approving the country’s first federal law focused exclusively on payment stablecoins, the pressure is mounting on banks to adapt quickly.

Growing Momentum For Stablecoin Integration

The institutional shift is already underway. A recent Fireblocks survey revealed that 90% of financial players are actively exploring stablecoin applications. Van Eck warned that no bank can afford to ignore this movement.

“If customers want to transfer digital dollars, the banks must provide a seamless on-ramp,”

he said, stressing that any failure to do so will push clients toward more agile competitors.

Other influential voices, including members of the Trump Organization, have echoed similar views, framing blockchain integration as essential for survival. For many analysts, Ethereum’s ability to handle smart contracts, tokenization, and scaling solutions gives it a decisive advantage over other blockchains vying for relevance.

Ether ETFs Outpace Bitcoin As Wall Street Shifts

Ethereum’s market momentum reflects this growing confidence. Ether exchange-traded funds have attracted more than $1.8 billion in inflows within just five days, ten times more than their Bitcoin counterparts. Since July, Ether ETFs have drawn nearly $10 billion, making them one of the fastest-growing financial products in U.S. markets.

At the same time, Ether continues to show resilience in the spot market. As of today, Ethereum trades at $4,603.63, marking a 0.51% gain over the last 24 hours. Its market capitalization stands at $555.69 billion, with $41.53 billion in daily trading volume despite a 14.12% drop from the previous session.
