The all-time high for the hashrate stands at over 1 trillion, registered on the 4th of August. Higher difficulty and increasing hash rate are good for the security of the network. They also mean conditions are getting tougher for miners. This has been the case for many years, and explains the rise of mining pools and large corporations in Bitcoin mining.
