There is perhaps a tad bit of irony that AI would enable us to study the human condition of emotions. A machine is being used to expose a deeply embodied human heartfelt matter. An advantage to this approach is that you don’t need to worry about somehow causing harm as you might when performing akin experiments with humans. The AI isn’t part of the human subject protocols that are normally maintained when working with people to gauge and probe their emotional states.
