Saturday Night, October 11, the 88-year-old Penske’s IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car team won the 48th Auto Racing Championship in the Motul Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. Mathieu Jaminet and Matt Campbell were in the No. 6 Porsche to lead Porsche Penske Motorsport to the 2025 IMSA Championship with a third-place finish. Cadillac’s Earl Bamber drove to the checkered flag in the No. 31 Whelen entry to win the race. He shared that ride with fellow drivers Jack Aitken and Frederik Vesti. Penske’s Podium Finish Clinches Title But a third-place finish by Porsche Team Penske was enough to clinch the 15th Sports Car Championship in Penske’s career. The team also won the Drivers’ Championship; the team championship and Porsche clinched the Manufacturer’s Title. “I think it’s all our team, certainly Porsche came to the party with us this year with a great car,” Penske said on pit lane just moments after the race concluded. “I just can’t thank everybody enough. This is a magic moment for us to see our two cars finish all 10 hours and up on the podium, which is a key for us. “More important is the manufacturers championship for Porsche and the team and driver championship for us. “Great day.
