Bitfarms plans to convert its Washington site for high-performance computing and AI workloads by December 2026, featuring advanced liquid cooling and Nvidia GB300 support.
Bitfarms Ltd. (Nasdaq/TSX: BITF), a North American energy and digital infrastructure company, has announced its intention to convert its Washington State site to support high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) workloads. This strategic move is expected to be completed by December 2026, according to a recent announcement by Bitfarms. The company’s initiative includes the installation of advanced liquid cooling systems and Nvidia GB300 GPUs, aimed at optimizing the facility’s performance and efficiency. Washington Facility Conversion The 18 MW Bitcoin mining facility in Washington will be the first of Bitfarms’ sites to undergo a complete conversion for HPC and AI workloads. The project will support up to 190KW per rack, utilizing advanced liquid cooling technology. Bitfarms has secured a $128 million agreement with a major American multinational provider of data center infrastructure, ensuring the supply of all necessary IT equipment and materials. The facility aims to achieve a power usage effectiveness (PuE) ratio between 1.2 and 1.3, marking it as an industry leader in energy efficiency. Strategic Infrastructure Development Bitfarms’ CEO, Ben Gagnon, emphasized the company’s commitment to developing infrastructure for Nvidia’s next-generation GPUs. The Washington site is expected to serve as a prototype for future projects, focusing on GPU-as-a-Service or cloud monetization strategies. Despite being a small fraction of Bitfarms’ portfolio, the Washington facility is projected to generate significant net operating income, surpassing previous earnings from Bitcoin mining. This income is expected to support operational expenses, general and administrative costs, and debt service as Bitfarms transitions away from Bitcoin mining by 2027. About Bitfarms Ltd.
