In an afternoon press briefing, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said the victim was a 37-year-old American citizen and was shot multiple times. Earlier on Saturday, Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said federal agents “were conducting a targeted operation in Minneapolis against an illegal alien wanted for violent assault,” who she said was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
