Disney Pinnacle: When, Where, What?
Disney Pinnacle isn’t just a collection hosted through a third-party marketplace. It is set to be a fully-fledged platform that will allow users to buy, sell and trade the iconic pins by leveraging the Flow blockchain. It will be available later this year on both the Apple App and Google Play store for Android and iOS devices. Disney Pinnacle will also be accessible via browser, where a website is currently under development.
The platform is being built in conjunction with Dapper Labs, one of the biggest names in NFT marketplaces and collections. Dapper is the team behind the popular NBA Top Shot and Crypto Kitties, although the firm has struggled of late as the NFT market continues to cool.
Dapper Labs CEO, Roham Gharegozlou, was excited about the collectible’s potential:
Fans anywhere will be able to collect dynamic pins on their phone and trade instantly and securely with each other no matter where they are in the world.
However, fans of the Marvel franchise will be disappointed, as it appears the Disney Pinnacle platform won’t include any characters from the popular movie and television canon. It’s better news for Darth Vader admirers though, as Star Wars characters will feature heavily on the platform.
