The survey, which included 2,000 participants from the U.S., Brazil, Germany, and India, highlighted the increasing use of generative AI tools among software developers. Survey Methodology and Key Findings The survey, conducted by Wakefield Research on behalf of GitHub, included respondents from various roles including software engineers, developers, programmers, data scientists, and software designers. The study aimed to capture a diverse view of AI’s impact on software development across different regions. One of the key findings revealed that over 97% of respondents have used AI coding tools at some point in their careers. However, the level of company support for these tools varies significantly by region. The U.S. leads with 88% of respondents indicating company support for AI use, while Germany lags behind at 59%.
