Contrary to the popular belief that altcoins consistently reach new highs with each cycle, Kang believes that the current cycle could witness a “euthanasia period” for many altcoins, even if Bitcoin reaches new highs. “This was the first cycle where the altcoin market cap made a lower high,” Kang said. Questioning whether this will result in a lower bottom for altcoins, Kang noted that Solana remains undecided due to its potential resilience. However, if Solana is excluded from the altcoin’s market cap, a lower bottom seems likely. Looking ahead, Kang predicts a bottom for altcoins in 2025. He believes the next wave of growth will be driven by tokens related to decentralized AI infrastructure.
