Fintech Aiming to make crypto as easy to use as fiat, Bitget Wallet has joined forces with Mastercard and infrastructure provider Immersve to launch a global crypto-linked payment card. This new offering allows users to spend digital assets at any merchant that supports Mastercard, spanning more than 150 million locations worldwide. The virtual card, now available through the Bitget Wallet app, is funded in real-time via onchain swaps and deposits, eliminating the need to move assets between platforms. Applicants can receive approval within minutes and instantly load the card into their mobile wallets for immediate use both online and offline. Behind the scenes, Immersve handles crypto-to-fiat conversions and ensures that all transactions meet Mastercard’s regulatory standards, including compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) protocols. The rollout begins in the UK and EU, with plans to expand into Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand later this year. This development comes at a time of increased focus on real-world crypto adoption. With over 80 million global users, Bitget Wallet sees the new card as a bridge between decentralized finance and traditional payments. To further incentivize adoption, the card will also offer yield opportunities on idle wallet balances, rewards for verified users, and transaction-based bonuses. Bitget Wallet’s CMO Jamie Elkaleh emphasized the growing demand for real-life crypto applications, stating the new product aims to make digital spending as seamless as traditional payments. Mastercard’s global partnerships EVP, Scott Abrahams, described the initiative as part of a broader mission to make crypto transactions secure and accessible at scale. Meanwhile, Immersve’s CEO Jerome Faury noted that the collaboration represents a pivotal moment in the convergence of Web3 and global finance.
