On November 28 and 29, São Paulo will host the largest gathering between public authorities, the crypto industry, developers, and enthusiasts of the new global economic model. Among the prominent names at the conference is Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether. A crypto company with a market capitalization of $183 billion, according to Coinmarketcap. This means that Tether’s financial “size” is already equivalent to that of large corporations — highlighting the significant impact stablecoins already have in the financial/crypto system. It is worth noting that Tether is not a publicly traded company, and the largest public companies in the world have a market cap between $200 billion and $300 billion. According to Bloomberg, the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin is valued at $500 billion, after seeking to raise $15 to $20 billion. This valuation surpasses the combined worth of national giants such as Petrobras, Itaú, Vale, BTG Pactual, Ambev, and Banco do Brasil. It is in this context that Ardoino will arrive at the end of this month at the Blockchain Conference Brazil.
