Flooding of a catastrophic kind has occurred over the countries of Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka over the course of the previous week as a result of cyclone-driven winds and heavy rainfall. More than 420 people have lost their lives as a result of the tragedy throughout the area, with 123 of those deaths occurring in Sri Lanka. Additionally, tens of thousands of people have been displaced, and key infrastructure has been badly damaged.
