Sri Lanka has seen massive landslides, damaged transportation lines, and the suspension of governmental services. Bybit is in contact with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) in order to make a donation of $100,000 to fund relief efforts. Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange in terms of trading volume, made an announcement today regarding an emergency humanitarian contribution to support communities that have been impacted by the devastating floods that have occurred across Southeast Asia. The primary focus of this contribution is on Sri Lanka, which is one of the countries that has been hit the hardest by Cyclone Ditwah. Flooding of a catastrophic kind has occurred over the countries of Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka over the course of the previous week as a result of cyclone-driven winds and heavy rainfall. More than 420 people have lost their lives as a result of the tragedy throughout the area, with 123 of those deaths occurring in Sri Lanka. Additionally, tens of thousands of people have been displaced, and key infrastructure has been badly damaged.
