Cardano Foundation Delegates 140M ADA to Builders in Push for Inclusive Governance
In response to concerns about underrepresentation, the Foundation has delegated 20 million ADA each—a total of 140 million ADA—to seven Delegated Representatives (DReps) selected for their technical contributions, governance integrity, and alignment with Cardano’s principles.
“One of the Foundation’s goals is to promote diverse engagement across stakeholders,” the announcement stated. “We identified a lack of builder representation as a critical gap.”
The move comes amid increased scrutiny over Intersect’s budget process and the growing influence of governance decisions across the Cardano ecosystem. By empowering DReps with significant voting weight, the Foundation hopes to strengthen on-chain decision-making through technically grounded, community-aligned voices.
Selected DReps Include
Tempo.vote – Governance tooling innovators
Sidan Lab – Creators of dev kits like Whisky and Vodka
Socious – Driving social impact via quadratic funding
Cerkoryn – Analyst behind ChangWatch governance dashboard
Kyle Solomon – CEO of DripDropz, known for Cardano rewards infrastructure
Chris Gianelloni – Co-founder of Blink Labs, building Go-based node clients
Mesh – Team behind widely-used Cardano TypeScript SDK
Each DRep was chosen based on criteria including technical output, governance participation, and lack of excessive existing voting power. Importantly, the Foundation does not mandate how DReps vote, instead emphasizing independence and ethical conduct.
This initiative is set to run through the end of 2025, aligning with the current Net Change Limit (NCL) period. The Foundation plans to evaluate its impact and potentially extend the strategy, aiming to build a more inclusive, decentralized governance structure for Cardano.
