The Dogecoin Foundation has made significant progress in its trailmap projects, including GigaWallet and LibDogecoin. It has completed 100% of its first phase and 90% of the second phase, which focuses on lowering adoption barriers for businesses. The Dogecoin Foundation has announced a significant update to its development strategy, unveiling “Project Sakura.” This upgrade of the protocol seeks to increase the performance of Dogecoin through increased block time and block size by ten times. It seeks to promote maximum decentralization, hence creating curiosity and controversy amongst the Dogecoin community.  On Thursday, the Foundation disclosed its plan regarding X, which laid out a three-phase strategy to increase the adoption of Dogecoin. The first phase, which has been accomplished, was devoted to the open development tools.  This also included the development of “lib dogecoin” and the multi-language bindings, which made it easier for more developers to work on DOGE projects. The Foundation also noted the increase in the number of developers in the Foundation’s circle and the overall Dogecoin community.  The second phase focuses on enabling more businesses to accept Dogecoin and for people who do not have access to banking services. This step which is currently 90% done includes major products such as the GigaWallet Payment Gateway and e-commerce plugins.  These tools are designed to help make DOGE a usable currency for commerce, improving the transaction process for merchants and customers. Furthermore, the presence of other applications such as Radio Doge and Dogebox OS, opens up additional possibilities of use of Dogecoin.  The third phase, which is currently only 10% completed, entails a significant increase in the scalability of Dogecoin through Project Sakura.
