On August 24, Ethereum-based game L3 Xai initiated litigation against Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI, alleging trademark infringement and unfair competition in the Northern District of California. The filing by Delaware entity Ex Populus states it has deployed the XAI mark in US commerce since June 2023, notably within its blockchain gaming ecosystem and via the XAI token, and contends that the defendant’s actions have damaged the brand.
