Google users have shown a remarkable shift in search preferences, with “AI” surpassing the popularity of terms like “Bitcoin” and “crypto.” Data from Google Trends indicates that this trend gained momentum around November 2022, coinciding with the launch of OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The divergence in search interests has become more pronounced, reflecting a global fascination with artificial intelligence that has outpaced the traditionally dominant cryptocurrency-related terms. The rise of AI in Google searches As of late, Google Trends data reveals that worldwide search interest in “AI” boasts a substantial score of 91, overshadowing Bitcoin’s score of 22. Notably, Google Trends highlights that countries like El Salvador, Nigeria, Netherlands, Brazil, and Switzerland exhibited the most interest in Bitcoin. In contrast, artificial intelligence has seen a year marked by significant developments. From concerns about AI displacing jobs to the proliferation of AI nude services and the introduction of innovative chatbots like ChatGPT, Google Bard, Meta AI, and GrokAI—launched by tech mogul Elon Musk—AI has captured global attention.
