The new technology enables the miner to achieve up to 860 terahashes per second with an efficiency of 13 joules per terahash.

The deployment of the U3S21EXPH is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025, with a hosting agreement starting at 15 exahashes per second. This agreement will allow Hut 8 to use its custom data center infrastructure to implement the new device. The agreement also provides Hut 8 with the option to purchase the equipment in tranches, offering flexibility and reducing the financial risk of investing in new technologies.

Hut 8’s hash rate under management will increase from 18.5 EH/s to approximately 33.5 EH/s with the implementation of the U3S21EXPH.
