The IOTA Foundation has announced a surprise reward for all investors and contributors as it celebrates its 10-year anniversary, hitting several milestones along its decade-long journey.
Since its introduction on Bitcointalk in October 2015, IOTA has been at the forefront of developing a scalable and decentralized distributed ledger designed for real-world applications.
Over the past decade, the protocol has evolved from a visionary concept to a technology driving tangible impact. As a result, it has enabled digital identity systems, tokenized asset markets, DeFi initiatives, and supply chain transparency projects with global enterprises.
It continues to play a key role in shaping the future of digital trade and finance, supported by an expanding network of developers and partners.
Today, IOTA’s Layer-1 network is gaining adoption across regions, including Africa, Europe, and Asia, underscoring its mission to deliver real-world utility, as reported by CNF. The project credits its growth and progress to the continued support of the IOTA community.
To celebrate its journey, IOTA announced the distribution of 10 million native tokens to various ecosystem stakeholders.

IOTA has revealed plans to distribute a total of 10 million IOTA tokens as part of a series of community-focused events and initiatives marking its 10th anniversary.
The first phase began on October 1 with the launch of Binance Simple Earn’s locked IOTA products. A total of 2 million tokens are being distributed as staking rewards through Binance, with reward rates varying based on lock-up periods of 30, 60, or 120 days.
On October 2, IOTA hosted its anniversary celebration in Singapore, raffling 250,000 tokens among ten winners. The event also awarded additional prizes, including IOTA-branded Keystone wallets and commemorative goodie bags.
The Latest updates on Token Distribution
Further community distribution efforts include rewards for holders of the Genesis NFT and contributors on the LiquidLink DeFi leaderboard, with 750,000 tokens already airdropped on October 30 to users based on a snapshot taken on October 24.
Native IOTA stakers are also benefiting from the campaign. On October 30, 2 million tokens were airdropped to eligible users, measured by staking amount and duration at the time of the October 24 snapshot. Exchange wallets and foundation-related addresses were excluded from this distribution.
In total, 10 million IOTA tokens will be shared across the community as a gesture of appreciation for the support and engagement that have fueled IOTA’s decade-long growth. The foundation stated that it will release additional details on upcoming airdrops in the coming weeks.
As IOTA enters its next chapter, the organization reaffirmed its commitment to bringing real-world assets on-chain and enhancing the way value moves globally, both for individuals and businesses.
