Kraken activated its US-regulated derivatives platform and began offering cryptocurrency futures contracts listed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

The service, called Kraken Derivatives US, allows US-based users to trade futures alongside spot markets from a single interface, within a properly regulated system and with fully integrated collateral management.

This initiative is part of a broader plan to build a multi-asset platform that combines digital and traditional assets under a unified infrastructure. Since April, Kraken has provided commission-free trading of stocks and ETFs in the US, offering access to over 11,000 instruments available 24/7. It also recently announced a tokenized equities service aimed at expanding its range of financial products on blockchain.

Kraken to Add Futures on Commodities, Fixed Income, FX, and Equities

The launch of Kraken Derivatives US was made possible by the $1.5 billion acquisition of NinjaTrader earlier in 2025. That deal secured the licenses and regulatory approvals needed to offer derivatives in the US market — a segment historically restricted to a handful of properly licensed exchanges.

The new platform will provide an integrated experience for trading both futures and spot markets within Kraken Pro, leveraging the exchange’s existing liquidity and performance infrastructure. Users can instantly transfer collateral between both markets and deploy hedging or leveraged strategies without friction, in a high-frequency, regulated environment.

Kraken highlighted that this launch improves capital efficiency and expands access to crypto derivatives products in the US at a time of growing institutional and retail demand for tools that enable digital asset trading under conditions comparable to traditional markets. The company also confirmed it will add futures on commodities, fixed income, FX, and equities before year’s end, consolidating its offering for both tokenized and conventional assets
