In practice, on a sample of 502 respondents from the general population, it emerged that the gender pay differentials among employees in the crypto sector are the opposite of what is normally observed.  Specifically, the analysis of median base salaries reveals that women in cryptocurrency companies earn 14.67% more than their male counterparts.  The median base salary for women is $172,000, compared to $150,000 for men, which means that women earn $1.15 for every dollar earned by men. This is a real countertrend compared to all other sectors. In fact, it is estimated that in non-crypto companies, a woman generally earns 0.84 dollars for every dollar earned by a man. The collection of data for this survey signed by Pantera Capital took place from June 4 to July 20, 2024, through the web and distributed via professional networks (LinkedIn), social media platforms (X), newsletters, and e-mails. Not only that, the 502 respondents are all residents in the USA and all full-time employees in the sector, who have self-identified as men and women.  Women earn more than men In his tweet, Pantera Capital also explains what the motivations behind the result of his survey could be.  Women in crypto tend to be more experienced and often in mid-level to senior positions.
