When it comes to investing, there’s no room for sentiment. Money talks but has been eerily silent regarding crypto stalwarts Litecoin (LTC) and Polkadot (DOT). These tokens were major drawcards in the heady days of 2021 and 2022, but now they are all but ghost chains as Americans look elsewhere. Like sports betting, for example. Americans just love to catch the game: There’s only one day a year without professional sports being played in America! Sports betting is now as much part of the culture as fandom, and the new online gaming platform Rollblock is rolling out the red carpet for sports betting as Litecoin and Polkadot investors find better ways to make their money work for them. Litecoin (LTC): Down and out and losing ground Litecoin was named as a token that could do anything Bitcoin could do, but only faster and cheaper. It was Bitcoin ‘stripped for export,’ and for years, Litecoin served as a de facto testing ground for Bitcoin investment. But Bitcoin has been deciphered; we know how it works now. The use case for Litecoin has dried up, and so have its investors. Litecoin used to be a top-10 coin but is now barely clinging to the number 20 spot, marginally ahead of Polkadot (DOT) but threatened by Kaspa (KAS) and the resurgent Polygon (MATIC). Polkadot (DOT): Fading from relevance The idea behind Polkadot was to provide a way for blockchains to talk to each other. Polkadot was the United Nations of blockchains, and it served a vital purpose in the early days of blockchain development. These days, Polkadot is fading into obscurity as newer blockchains and even upgrades to existing ones make Polkadot’s cause obsolete.
