Marathon Digital Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: MARA), a prominent player in the digital energy and infrastructure sector, has announced its ambitious target of reaching 75 exahash per second (EH/s) by the end of 2025. This goal represents a significant 40% increase from its 2024 capacity, despite facing a 25% decline in Bitcoin (BTC) production for June 2025, according to MARA Holdings. June Production Overview In June, Marathon reported winning 211 blocks, a notable decrease from May’s figures. The decline was attributed to weather-related curtailments and the temporary use of older machines in Garden City due to storm damages. Despite these setbacks, Marathon’s Bitcoin holdings increased to 49,940 BTC, underscoring the company’s strategic accumulation approach. Strategic Expansion Plans Fred Thiel, Chairman and CEO of Marathon, emphasized the company’s focus on expanding its capacity with 1.7 gigawatts (GW) of captive capacity, including 1.1 GW currently operational. The expansion is supported by existing machine orders, aligning with the company’s commitment to low-cost power and efficient capital deployment. Operational Metrics Marathon’s operational metrics for June showed a decrease in several key areas compared to May.
