Bitcoin’s Status Evolves Amid Record Price Milestone Vlad Tenev remarked on Bitcoin’s transformation in perception over the last decade. “Bitcoin has gone from being ridiculed and ignored to now being taken very seriously,” he said. The cryptocurrency’s price exceeded $103,900, driven partly by growing institutional interest and regulatory shifts. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s recent comments about Bitcoin also fueled its momentum. Powell stated, “Bitcoin is a speculative asset, like gold, only virtual and digital.” He added that Bitcoin competes with gold, not the U.S. dollar, sparking optimism among crypto advocates who viewed this as a sign of growing legitimacy for the digital asset. Robinhood, which offers cryptocurrency trading, saw a 400% increase in crypto trading volume in November compared to the previous month.
