Robinhood launches micro futures for XRP and Solana, lowering margin barriers and catering to retail traders seeking flexible exposure to crypto derivatives. The move follows a proposal for tokenized real-world assets and a prediction market launch, signaling Robinhood’s push toward a comprehensive, multi-asset financial super app. Robinhood has officially expanded its crypto derivatives product line by launching micro futures contracts for two major assets, XRP and Solana. Interestingly, they also present a micro version of the Bitcoin Friday Futures contract that was previously available on their platform. These contracts are designed to be more accessible to traders with limited capital. For example, for XRP, one contract covers 2,500 tokens with a tick value of only $1.25—quite a distance compared to standard contracts whose tick values can reach $25. Meanwhile, for Solana, the contract size is 25 SOL. All of these products are cash-settled, so users don’t have to bother with direct delivery of crypto assets.
