The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has deferred a decision on two proposed exchange-traded funds (ETFs) related to Ethereum, according to a statement released by the regulatory body. The Hashdex Nasdaq Spot Ethereum ETF and the conversion of the Grayscale Ethereum Futures Trust into spot ETFs will now be subject to further review, with the SEC requesting public input on the matter. This move follows earlier delays in decisions on the VanEck Ethereum ETF and the ARK 21Shares Ethereum ETF. The SEC has yet to approve any cryptocurrency ETFs, citing concerns over market manipulation and investor protection.
