Shiba Inu Revamps Developer Hub to Power Shibarium and Alpha Layer Growth
SHIB streamlines developer tools into one platform for easier access
Alpha Layer introduces custom RollApps to scale the ecosystem
TREAT, BONE, LEASH, and SHIB now have clear roles across the network
Shiba Inu’s latest update is all about making things simpler for developers. The team behind SHIB has launched a refreshed Developer Hub to bring all the tools, guides, and documents under one roof. Built using the Mintlify framework, this new hub replaces the scattered resources once spread out across GitHub, forums, and chats.

Now, developers can find clear walkthroughs on how to set up validator nodes, work within the Shibarium Layer 2 network, and move tokens between chains. It also includes full instructions for integrating both ShibaSwap V1 and V2. This centralized approach makes it easier for new and experienced builders to dive into the ecosystem.
The hub also includes a set of handy tools. There are software development kits for DeFi projects, a Hardhat plugin for the Shiba Alpha Layer, as well as open-source libraries such as ElderJS and Elder-Wrap.
These tools help developers create both back-end systems and front-end projects like Shib The Metaverse or the Shib Name Service. The site even features a live status tracker and showcases projects built by the community.

Alpha Layer Opens the Door for Custom Chains
The next evolution of the ecosystem was announced by Lucie, a Shiba ecosystem team core member, with the launch of the Shiba Alpha Layer. A modular rollup structure, this layer allows for RollApps to be launched: autonomous chains of execution that settle on Shibarium for security.
TREAT Runs It. BONE Fuels It. SHIB Gains From It.

The TREAT token plays a vital operational role in this setup. Developers are required to stake TREAT to deploy and maintain RollApps within the Alpha Layer. This establishes TREAT as the primary instrument for infrastructure-level governance and control.
BONE remains as the gas token, enabling all transactional behavior in the Shibarium ecosystem. Since RollApps depend on the base chain for ultimate finality, BONE becomes an integral part of each interaction. LEASH, as a gatekeeper, allows for verification functions as well as access control for early adopters of new RollApps.
Shiba Inu Steps into Real Utility
What used to be considered just a meme coin is now gaining a more serious role. SHIB is being used inside this framework as a value asset. Developers can implement it for payments, token logic, or liquidity within RollApps and apps built on Shibarium.
The design creates a tighter connection between the ecosystem’s tokens. Each one plays a part: TREAT for infrastructure, BONE for gas, LEASH for verification, and SHIB for movement of value.
It’s a shift from having disconnected tokens to building a fully integrated system. With all these parts now working together, Shiba Inu is turning its ecosystem into a real utility-driven network that developers can rely on.
