NYSE to Launch 24/7 Blockchain Trading Platform for Tokenized Securities The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has revealed plans to launch a blockchain-based platform for tokenized securities. This new platform will facilitate 24/7 trade, instant settlement, and dollar transactions. It will also provide funding using stablecoins, thus becoming more accessible to international investors. The site will be operating based on the powerful Pillar matching engine of NYSE, and its use, along with blockchain, will boost efficiency. This will help in minimizing settlement period and enhancing trading experiences. The increasing demand to have 24-hour access to the market is the reason why the NYSE opts to switch to tokenized securities. NYSE is in the process of obtaining a permit to open the platform by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The exchange will be launched later on this year. The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the owner of NYSE, has a larger digital strategy upon which this project is based. ICE is as well updating its clearing infrastructure to facilitate 24/7 trading.
