For years, crypto in Spain has spoken a foreign tongue but not any more. Venga, a crypto startup born in the heart of Barcelona, has officially launched its mobile app in Catalan and Spanish, making it the first of its kind to offer a fully native experience for speakers of both languages. On the development, company co-founder and CEO Michael Stroev noted that the shift will hopefully unlock Web3 for millions across the country, adding:
“Since I moved to Barcelona in 2020, it has been my dream to build a startup that truly feels local and has a product and service tailored to Catalan and Spanish speakers and communities.”
With this release, users in Spain can now buy, sell, and earn crypto through an interface that feels more familiar, not just linguistically, but culturally. The app, available in Spanish, Catalan, and English, offers everything from named IBANs and euro-to-crypto conversion to DeFi earn products and secure wallets. But what sets it apart, Stroev insists, isn’t just the feature set. It’s the feeling of being seen. According to industry estimates, nearly one in five Catalans have interacted with crypto in some way, a level of engagement that actually rivals or exceeds many European regions.
