This move signals a robust commitment to expanding its Bitcoin treasury amid changing market dynamics and regulatory landscapes. “There’s nothing micro about what MicroStrategy is doing, so the rebrand to Strategy is very fitting,” said Jan3 CEO Samson Mow, emphasizing the firm’s bold new direction. Strategy announces its acquisition of 7,633 Bitcoin post-rebranding, targeting a larger role in Bitcoin treasury strategies with significant performance metrics in 2025. Strategy’s BTC Yield Reaches 4.1% Year-to-Date In a recent filing, Strategy reported a Bitcoin yield of 4.1% for the year-to-date period ending February 9, 2025. This yield serves as a crucial performance indicator, reflecting the relationship between its large BTC reserves and assumed diluted share count. Following substantial gains from previous years, particularly a notable yield of 74.3% in 2024, the company noted a decrease in 2025 expectations. Despite facing challenges, including a $670 million net loss in Q4 2024, Strategy aims to maintain its focus on BTC as a primary asset. The revised yield target has been set at 15% for the entire year, aligning with their ambitious growth plan of achieving targeted gains of $10 billion in 2025. Performance Insights and Strategic Adjustments Post-rebranding, Strategy reported impressive BTC gains totaling approximately $1.8 billion from January 1 to February 9, marking a nearly 18% increase from their newly set targets. The 2024 performance, on the other hand, showcased a remarkable accumulation of 140,538 BTC, culminating in around $13.1 billion in gains.
