In an effort to tackle concerns regarding transparency and progress in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), U.S. legislators have introduced two bipartisan bills. The initial legislation, put forth by Democratic Senator Gary Peters, along with Republican Senators Mike Braun and James Lankford on June 8, aims to mandate the government’s transparency in AI implementation. The proposed bills require that the government provides clear information to the public about the use and official launch of AI initiatives. Additionally, the legislation aims to establish a mechanism through which individuals can challenge any decisions made by AI systems.
