According to Jay Yu, the President of Stanford Crypto, the subject was taught as part of the standard Stanford curriculum. He particularly took a lecture on “Uniswap Governance for Stanford’s ‘CS 352B/LAW 1078: Blockchain Governance,’ looking at UNI delegation, the Wormhole Controversy, and the Fee Switch.” 1/ We’re teaching @Uniswap fee switch design as Stanford course curriculum. His class began with a discussion of Uniswap’s overall DAO Governance Process which includes the request for comment, temperature check, and governance proposals. The conversations continued with a walk through several key votes and proposals, like Prop 24 and they further discussed the Uniswap Foundation’s role as a facilitator in governance. Noteworthy, Prop 24 is the protocol that created the Uniswap Foundation. Yu also discussed the Wormhole Controversy of Prop 31 in Feb 2023, highlighting what it reveals about some of the challenges of decentralized governance in practice. The new Fee Switch proposal from February 2024 was the final subject that was discussed, per Yu’s post on X.
