Uniswap Labs Unveils Groundbreaking Android Wallet App with Seamless Swap Function
The new native app makes swapping “dead simple” for Android users, with features including support for multiple languages and local currencies.
Following the closed beta which began in October, Uniswap Labs’ wallet app has made its fully-fledged public debut on the Google Play store, giving Android users access to the app’s seamless swap functionality.

Uniswap’s wallet app for Android devices has been eagerly awaited by users, who until now have had to use a browser extension to make use of the popular decentralised exchange (DEX).
Android users will now be able to use the native app to swap tokens—including automatically switching between tokens on mainnet and layer 2 chains—making the process simpler and more convenient. Apple iPhone users have had access to the iOS version of the app since April.
Android App Increases Access To DeFi
Uniswap is one of the leading DEXs built on the Ethereum network, with over US$ 3 billion (AU$ 4.6 billion) worth of assets locked in its contracts. DEXs like Uniswap allow users to swap tokens directly—from one user to another—without having to rely on a centralised exchange such as Coinbase or Binance.
Removing the centralised intermediary has several advantages, such as allowing users to retain full control of their assets, increased anonymity, and potentially improved security. However, traditionally one of the major drawbacks of DEXs is the increased complexity compared to centralised exchanges.
Uniswap’s wallet app simplifies the process of using a DEX thereby making DeFi more accessible to a broader range of crypto users. Uniswap’s app also includes a feature where swaps “default to a private transaction pool to protect them from MEV and give you better prices.”

Speaking to Cointelegraph, Uniswap Labs vice president of design Callil Capuozzo, an Android version of its wallet app has been Uniswap users’ number one request:
