His proposal was published on the cypherpunks mailing list. At the time it was a revolutionary idea. He described a system where users could transact anonymously without relying on central authorities like banks. Dai’s approach was to create an economic system that was secure and censorship resistant. Although never implemented his work emphasized a community where transaction records were held by all participants. This would become the basis for future digital currencies.
