Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton took a lackluster feud and doused it with tension in the span of one shoot promo. Flair and Stratton’s rivalry quickly became less about a wrestling match, and more about what the two women represent in the landscape of women’s wrestling and wrestling in general. Wrestling fans, who are often monolithic in their online discourse about Flair, felt Stratton was in danger of Flair “burying” the rising star with another title win. Flair’s heated promos alongside Stratton saw the veteran repeatedly cut off Tiffany, to the point where Stratton brought up Charlotte’s poor bedside manner in a backstage promo. Despite the awkward journey to this match, Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton created a babyface vs. heel dynamic that is hard to come by given how jaded modern wrestling fans have become. Not to be outdone (though she was), Charlotte Flair came out second after driving up in a Rolls Royce. A ton of heat for Charlotte Flair, who was booed just as loudly as Tiffany Stratton was cheered.
